E Neapolitan Scale with Open Strings
Open strings help in E Neapolitan. The E Neapolitan scale is E, F, G, A, B, C# and D#, and the open E, A, G, B and high E strings are all part of it.
The root is the open low E string, repeated on the 7th fret of the A string. Play F, the flat second, on the 1st fret and listen to how it pulls to the tonic. For the second half, imagine E major with a lower third.

Structure
E neapolitan scale notes:
How the neapolitan scale is built:
The neapolitan scale is built from the degrees 1 b2 b3 4 5 6 7, which gives the step pattern H-W-W-W-W-W-H (W = whole step, H = half step).
Counting in semitones from the root: 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. That makes it a 7-note scale.
It is also known as Neapolitan Major.
