The C Neapolitan Scale on Guitar
The C Neapolitan scale has the notes C, Db, Eb, F, G, A and B. Its formula is 1, b2, b3, 4, 5, 6, 7: a Phrygian-style lower half joined to a major-style upper half.
The root sits on the 8th fret of the low E string and on the 3rd fret of the A string. Compare it with C melodic minor and you will see that only the flat second (Db) is different. To widen your palette, browse other exotic scales.

Structure
C neapolitan scale notes:
How the neapolitan scale is built:
The neapolitan scale is built from the degrees 1 b2 b3 4 5 6 7, which gives the step pattern H-W-W-W-W-W-H (W = whole step, H = half step).
Counting in semitones from the root: 0, 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11. That makes it a 7-note scale.
It is also known as Neapolitan Major.
