G Persian from the Open G String
The G Persian scale reads G, Ab, B, C, Db, Eb and F#. Open G and open B both belong to it, which gives you two anchors before you fret anything.
The root is also on the 3rd fret of the low E string. Ab, the flat second, is a half step above, and F# is the major seventh below the octave. Hear the tension in the player, then read about exotic scales on guitar.

Structure
G persian scale notes:
How the persian scale is built:
The persian scale is built from the degrees 1 b2 3 4 b5 b6 7, which gives the step pattern H-W+H-H-H-W-W+H-H (W = whole step, H = half step).
Counting in semitones from the root: 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11. That makes it a 7-note scale.
