F# Persian and the E# Leading Tone
Seven notes, F#, G, A#, B, C, D and E#, define the F# Persian scale. E# is the major seventh and you fret it where F lives.
You can find the root at the 2nd fret of the low E string, and again at the 9th fret of the A string. Use the first position to learn the sound of the b2 (G), then move on to the longer patterns.

Structure
F# persian scale notes:
How the persian scale is built:
The persian scale is built from the degrees 1 b2 3 4 b5 b6 7, which gives the step pattern H-W+H-H-H-W-W+H-H (W = whole step, H = half step).
Counting in semitones from the root: 0, 1, 4, 5, 6, 8, 11. That makes it a 7-note scale.
